This post is for the Obama followers. Whether you are an Obamacan( a weak Republican supporter of Obama) or just an every day Democratic supporter, this post is for you. As we approach the final week before Election Day, I thought it was important to bring to light some facts you may have glossed over as you prepare to cast your ballot. There are some important issues that the Obama Campaign has been deceiving you on and this post is simply designed to bring them to light. It's important to be fully informed before you vote, if after reading this you still wish to vote for Obama that's fine by me. But if Obama is elected and you are unhappy with the result because it is not what Obama promised you, you have been forewarned and the fault is your own.
If You Are Making 50,000 Or More A Year, Obama Is Raising Your Taxes- So, not quite the 250,000 your guy promised is it? You see, what he wont tell you is that by rolling back Bush's tax cuts, it is a defacto tax increase. American Thinker has a helpful table for you to look at:

Obama Might End The War In Iraq, But Will His Policies Start A New War?- As I understand it, a great deal of liberal anger towards President Bush has to do with the war in Iraq and the great appeal of Senator Obama is his promise to "end the war in 16 months." Now because of the surge, this war may very well end in 16 months, but it looks like Obama's blundering on foreign policy may well start another one. When he isn't threatening to invade Pakistan unilaterally he is promising to send more troops into Afghanistan. From Salon.com
Obama wants to send 10,000 extra U.S. troops to Afghanistan, but wants to withdraw all American soldiers and Marines from Iraq on a short timetable. In contrast to the kid gloves with which he treated the Iraqi government, Obama repeated his threat to hit at al-Qaida in neighboring Pakistan unilaterally, drawing howls of outrage from Islamabad.
But Obama's pledge to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan will not be easy to fulfill. While coalition troop deaths have declined significantly in Iraq, NATO casualties in Afghanistan are way up. By shifting emphasis from Iraq to Afghanistan, would a President Obama be jumping from the frying pan into the fire?
So, to all of those supporters who think that once Obama takes over all conflict ends, you are going to be in for quite a surprise. If Obama wins he will have a liberal honeymoon period of six months tops before it is fully understood that "The One" may very well turn out as hawkish as Bush. What will liberal bloggers do then? Biden said Obama will be tested with an international crisis, lets just hope its not of his own making.
You Think Our Deficit Is Bad Now, Wait Until Your Guy Enters Office- All I hear from Democrats and Republicans is that we have to balance the budget. Well, if there is a President Barack Obama you all can keep dreaming. From The Washington Post:
On the campaign trail, Sen. Barack Obama bashes President Bush
for "reckless" economic policies that are "mortgaging our children's
future on a mountain of debt." But the Democratic presidential
candidate has adopted a key component of Bush's fiscal policy: A novel
bookkeeping method that guarantees that the $9.5 trillion national debt
will get much bigger.
Unlike his Democratic colleagues, Obama has never made balancing the
budget a priority. He concedes that he would not be able to do it
during his first term, and probably not during his second, either.
As long as he can pass The New Deal Part Deux, what does he care about the deficit? With a rubber stamp congress and a groveling media, "The One" will have no problem spending us into oblivion.
Final Thoughts- I'm a big believer in voting with your eyes wide open. I can't stop you from voting for Obama, but I can give you some details you aren't getting anywhere else right now. Stop and think for a moment about what he is going to cost you and your family. If your big issue is that you hate war, well I hate to tell you, one may end under Obama but others may very well begin. If it gives you comfort to believe the lies about his tax plan I can't stop you from believing them, but the facts are what they are. When you go to the voting booth one week from today I want you to know exactly what you are voting for, so when, to quote Obama's pastor Jeremiah Wright, "your chickens come home to roost" the only one you can blame, is you. Until next time...
KNOCK OUT PUNCH! What folks for Obama need to know is that Republicans want good for all people. NOT just "Republicans"... Dems may not realize this, but freedom and liberty mean standing on your own. The American Dreams means that the average guy (or gal, like me) can work, can struggle, can fail from time to time, and a forgiving American society will still stand back and ALLOW you to succeed... even if it takes a lifetime....
Barack Obama wants to end success. Because when you "spread the wealth" you END the motivation for others to become wealthy (after all, why work hard for SOMEONE ELSE?). It is a scenario that has FAILED EVERY TIME IT WAS TRIED and only fools think, "I know fire burns everyone else, but I believe it won't burn ME"...that is the kind of mentality you HAVE to have to think that Barrack can repeat history (Cuba, Russia, Canada, China, France... and think "THIS TIME we'll do it right!"
Oh yah... and then Barrack says something like, "I have visited all 57 states"... and smart folks realize this guy doesn't have real brain in his head... sigh.. right on Nancy!

I just watched Senator Santorum Republican Pennsylvania on Fox and the body language isn't good. It is clear that he believes the Democrats will have a veto proof number in the Congress, or close enough when you factor the RINO Congressmen, to do whatever they want.
Expect big programs, lots of money spent on programs that will never work (see war on poverty, new deal etc.). The very first thing they will do according to Barney Frank is cut the military by 25%. That is a number that will give Russia the freedom to rebuild the New Soviet Union, China to do anything they want to Taiwan, and the middle east more likely to remove Israel from the world map. Obama will likely have our soldiers wearing the blue hats and being ordered around by the United Nations in somewhere in Africa. The world will once again love us as they laugh about how far we have fallen.

Great contributions to the discussion. I have a burning question that I don't hear people discussing. Obama has made clear his disdain for the Constitution. If elected, how will he take the oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Unites States?" Except by lying. Under oath.

Thats an excellent question entwife, I believe he sees the swearing in ceremony as a formality, not an solemn oath. His sneering towards the constitution should give everyone pause, but sadly many members of his party view the constitution the same way he does.

Wow, that table pretty much says it all. And I, too, noticed the strange disconnect on Middle East foreign policy--pulling out precipitously from Iraq while being willing to raid Pakistan. That does not compute at all! Thanks for posting this!
BTW, there's a new conservative woman's website/blog in town--check out

I think the thing that Republicans need to be doing is to continue repairing their Party. The Republicans did this back after Watergate, and were ready when the Liberal Democrats elected Jimmy Carter.
Obama/Pelosi/Reid will crash after the first 6 - 12 months, and the electorate will realize that they were lied to by the Tank Media and Democrats; People are going to be REALLY angry, and we Republicans will need to be ready to resuscitate a failed Government once again.

Very clear and well-written entry. Thanks for encouraging everyone to keep the political dialogue where it belongs - on the facts.
However, I do want to clarify a couple of items in your post.
On taxes: Obama has only supported letting SOME of the Bush tax cuts expire - only those for the top two tax brackets. His plan also includes the provision for the adjustment of those brackets to ensure it only includes those making more than $200,000 per year (individuals) or $250,000 per year (couples). He does not support a blanket peel-back of the Bush tax cuts. Please read this informative post on FactCheck.org on Obama's tax policy and how recent ads have been misleading: http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/spread_the_tax_hooey.html
On balancing the budget: outside analysts have concluded that neither McCain nor Obama would come close to balancing the budget with the plans they've currently outlined. I personally admire Obama for being able to speak truthfully to the American people about the financial crisis the government is in and its consequences for the federal budget.
And on foreign policy: Al Qaeda has endorsed John McCain, precisely because they know that his desire to continue the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely will exhaust the US militarily and financially, making it unable to respond effectively to further terrorist attacks and unable to regain its standing on the world stage. They know a President who supports the long-term presence of the US military in the Middle East, decries all Muslims as terrorists, is inclined toward military, rather than diplomatic, solutions, and antagonizes other nations (to the point where he is resistant to sitting down with Spain, a US ally) will be an excellent recruiting tool. By electing McCain, we are making Al Qaeda stronger.
Additionally, Obama's position on Pakistan is one that has not only been overwhelmingly supported by foreign-policy experts (and President Bush), but one that Sarah Palin has also said she supports.
Please, no matter what your party leanings, do your research, check the facts, and VOTE!

Not A Bot, a few points:
1. Why do you think Al Qaeda endorsed McCain, precisely because they thought it would hurt him. They are scared to death of a President McCain.
2. As far as "factcheck.org" goes, first of all Obama cannot, though he has said he can selectively allow some tax cuts to expire and not others. That is not how it works, he would have to let the entire bill expire and then redo another bill. The President can't line item veto or change a bill already on the books, he has to either renew or repeal it and he said he would repeal it and let the tax cuts expire. What he does after that you would have to take on faith, not his record. He does not have a record of voting on ANY tax cuts, but if thats a risk you want to take by all means.
3. McCain does not "decry all Muslims as terrorists" that is an inflammatory charge that is without merit or proof. You can make your argument without going there.
4. My point with his foreign policy proposals in the middle east is that yes, a few of them conservatives support, but I think its important to note that the idea that there will be no more wars with a President Obama is simply not true. Many of his supporters do not understand how hawkish he actually is.
5. I would also like to say as a final note that I would be careful with the McCain is a warmonger theme you have going on. This is a guy who has been traumatized by war, not someone in love with the idea of it. As to your point about "long term presence in the middle east," I hate to break it to you, but just like we are still in Germany and other foreign countries, we will never completely leave Iraq or other middle eastern countries even if there is a President Obama.
I appreciate your comments and enjoyed this exchange.

You are very erudite, Nancy. Today I put up a second post entitled, “Words Matter.” There is a qualifier, however. Words matter unless you happen to be Barack Obama. No matter what this man tells us, words matter only to the extent that they get him elected to the presidency. Honestly, if we elect this Marxist, we deserve him.
Posted by: Mustang | October 28, 2008 at 10:42 AM
it's not only, that you pay more tax, you also have a lot of excess expenditures because of additional taxes, etc. I wrote about this issue at http://www.anno2008.com/#taxplans
Posted by: Kurt | October 28, 2008 at 10:56 AM
Today while listening to the radio, I heard 3 clips from Obama...
1st clip said "No new taxes if you make under $250,000" in Obama's voice
2nd clip said "No new taxes if you make under 200,000" in Obama's voice
3rd clip said "You are safe if you make under $150,000" in Biden's voice
Just great... they are hedging on their promise BEFORE the election. Moral of the story--- you can NEVER believe a Marxist because the goal of a Marxist is to confiscate all wealth and make everyone equally POOR...
What a TRAGEDY that our country is selling FREEDOM in the false hope that government can take care of them...
Obama won't even care for his BROTHER making $12 a year... what FOOL would believe he would help STRANGERS? Obama was reparations for Slavery and he is going to make every single American PAY for what happened (tragically so!) over 150 years ago.

The Obamabots are blinded by their hatred of all things GOP and Bush. None of these issues register with them. On Ayers they say "so what"? On Pakistan they say "get Osama". On taxes a liberal friend actually said to me that she wants to pay more in taxes because the country needs the money. And besides, she said, "rich people" will pay more than she will.
You can't argue with "logic" like that. It's just not possible.

People don't take the time to really study the facts...they want "sound bite solutions". Thanks for explaining things in a concise but detailed manner. Obama is dangerous, especially in our current economic crisis.
